useformatter.dev is run by one developer, and messages go straight to them. There's no ticketing system and no support queue — just an inbox.
That address covers everything below. Expect a reply within a few days; this is a side project, not a staffed service.
What's useful to write about
- Bugs. The most valuable thing you can send. Please include which tool, what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead — plus your browser and operating system if the problem looks visual.
- Wrong output. If a tool produced an incorrect result, that's a priority. A sample input that reproduces it is worth more than any description.
- Tool suggestions. Requests are welcome, with one constraint: a tool only gets built if it can run entirely in the browser. Anything requiring a server isn't a fit for this site.
- Privacy questions. Happy to explain in detail how any specific tool handles your input. The short answer is on the privacy page.
- Business and advertising enquiries. Also this address.
Please don't send confidential data
If you're reporting a bug, do your best to reproduce it with sample data before emailing. Don't paste real tokens, production keys, customer records, or anything else sensitive into an email — the whole point of this site is that such data stays on your machine, and email is far less private than the tools are. A redacted example that still triggers the bug is always enough.
Before you write
A couple of things that come up often:
- "Is my data really not uploaded?" Really. Open your browser's developer tools, watch the network tab while you use a tool, or disconnect from the internet — the tools keep working. Details on the privacy page.
- "Can you recover something I pasted?" No, and that's by design. Nothing you enter is ever received or stored by the site. Your recent input is kept only in your own browser's local storage, on your device.
